Random Thoughts on 2 Hours Sleep

George Washington is scary again. Back in the days of Mike Jarvis, they were a perennial heart attack for opposing coaches, always lurking around, always making you sweat. After wins against Michigan State and now Maryland, they're baaaaack! Be afraid, be very afraid.

David Boston, on steroids? HAW HAW HAW...anyone who saw the SI article on this guy HAD to suspect that he was on the juice - I read that article LAST YEAR. Yet another NON-surprise for the all-time cynic, Thew.

The win against the Jags yesterday by the Steelers shows what a contender this team is. Good teams don't just win big, they win little. Ben pulled an Elway and drove 'em down for the winning FG with :18 on the clock. Poise. Execution. Score one for Big Ben.

Question: Do you think that Peyton Manning and the Colts are calling for 8 yard touchdown passes deep in the red zone to maybe pad his passing TD numbers? Boy, wouldn't it be a good validation and a feather in his cap to hold the single season TD record? Maybe to ease the pain of NEVER WINNING A SUPER BOWL?! Oh, sorry, that was cold...but nothing eases the pain of never winning the big one like breaking the record of a legend.

NBA news...oh, sorry, who gives a hoot?

Am I the only one in America that is sick of seeing the anorexic, spoiled, self-centered, ugly, little rich broad, Paris Hilton? Except in home video's of course...

Things that make you go "Hmmm"...

While attending my daughter's hoops tournament this past weekend, her team ran into a juggernaut of a select try-out big time all-star team. After getting behind 16-4 after the first period, her team eventually lost an exciting game 46-40. Yes, they outscored the juggernaut over the last 3 periods - scared them so much that the coach was howling at the refs (picking up a "T"), his kids were bickering at each other, you name it. But here's the rub - a father of another team in the tourney mentioned to me while chatting that this team, IF your daughter made the squad after try-outs, required a $1500 fee for the year, then $250 a month. For an EIGHTH GRADE TEAM! MOG!!! Not only that, a nice young 8th grade player in the other bracket was sociable, and mentioned to me that she has a cardio/weights trainer AND a hoops trainer. In EIGHTH GRADE?! Okay, maybe they were better players than my daughter, who is playing in the top level travelling team league, but man, what is up with these teams and these parents? Buncha failed or non-athletes grown fat and bald in their middle age living vicariously through their children...pathetic people.

Long weekend, I'm sleepy...
